8th grade girls basketball:
There will be a brief meeting for 8th grade girls who want to play basketball on Wednesday, October 16th @ 8:45 am in the MS Library.
Future Players / Parents: Practice will begin on Monday, October 21st. Location will be the middle school gym / after school to 5:30. Please have all paperwork turned into the office by the 1st practice.
Paperwork Needed: physical form, concussion form, waiver and pay to play.
NOTE: if your daughter participated during a fall activity these forms should have already been turned into the office.
Quarter 1 attendance reports have been pulled. Letters will be going home to students with attendance/tardy issues. Kansas law requires these letters to be sent; however, truant reports are only filed for multiple unexcused absences.
One of our primary goals is to engage students in learning, and regular attendance is vital to students' success. Thank you for your help in ensuring your students are attending school and getting to class on time on a regular basis.

Due to the forecasted temperatures for tomorrow, the middle school football games in Ark City start times have changed. 7th grade will start at 6:30 with 8th grade following.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Fall Choir concert has a new date!!! The new date is Thursday, October 24 at 7 pm at the high school auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Promotion for RHMS 8th Graders will be Friday, May 17 at 9:30 AM in the Middle School Gymnasium. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 9:10. Friends and family of all 8th graders are invited to attend this "special" event in the lives of our students. This year we are working to make Promotion both fun and meaningful for students, families and staff. Students will be wearing their Class T-Shirts so "dress-up" clothes are not necessary but I do hope that they will wear nice shorts or jeans/slacks (no athletic shorts or pajama bottoms).After the promotion students will be going bowling. Parents should have already received information regarding T-Shirts and After-Promotion activities.If you have any questions please call the Middle School (316.776.3320) or email me (trobertson@usd394.com). If your student does not want to attend the After-Promotion activity (Bowling in Derby), you may check them out of school after the Promotion ceremony. Thanks!
