𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞!
A few of our middle school students had the incredible opportunity to serve as Legislative Pages at the Kansas House this week. They represented the district with pride, witnessing government in action and experiencing a day filled with learning and excitement.
A huge thank you to Ms. Sally Smith for organizing this amazing experience, Representative Blake Carpenter for hosting our students, and Mr. Markley for being their chauffeur for the day.

The new date for RHMS spring pictures is Thursday, March 6. Due to 7th grade Winner's Circle that day, 7th grade will have their pictures taken first thing in the morning before they leave. You can pre-order pictures following the instructions in the attached picture, or you can wait for proofs to come in before ordering. Each student will receive an order slip with a QR code when they get their picture taken. We have a limited amount of extra pre-order packets in the office, if needed.

Students who qualified for the first semester Winner's Circle activity will be coming home with a personalized permission slip to be signed and returned. Students will be going ice skating at the Wichita Ice Center. Winner's Circle dates are 3/5 (8th grade), 3/6 (7th grade), and 3/7 (6th grade). Please read below from the student handbook on what Winner's Circle is and how students can qualify. If your student did not qualify and you have questions, please contact our assistant principal Ms. Rusk (316-776-3320; trusk@usd394.com). The second semester qualification trip will be in May before school is out. Information on that trip and who qualifies will be sent out closer to that trip.
Winners’ Circle is an activity sponsored by teachers to recognize and reward positive behavior and academic accountability. To become eligible for Winners’ Circle, students must qualify each semester in the following:
1. Academics: A student must hold a 3.0 GPA or better.
2. Behavior: A student must have less than 5 Minor Incident Referrals (MIRs). A student must have zero Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs).
A Winners’ Circle reward trip will be scheduled each semester, for students that qualify for Winners’ Circle.
First semester cut off date to qualify for Winner's Circle will be the last day of the first semester. The GPA
cutoff for second semester will be May 1st, behavior cutoff for second semester will be the date of the trip.
Students attending the Winners’ Circle trip will be excused from that school day. Those students not attending
will be responsible for that day’s normal classroom assignments.

8th grade boys basketball will practice after school tomorrow till 5 pm instead of morning practice. 7th grade will practice after school till 5 pm as well.

Tomorrow's middle school basketball games at Rose Hill will be cancelled due to El Dorado not being able to travel per their district inclement weather policy.
Girls wrestling will be as scheduled in Wellington tomorrow. Girls need to report to RHMS by 2:45.

If RH has school tomorrow, Feb. 20, the middle school will be having its spring picture day. Please have students bring picture packets and money to school. They will also receive a slip with a QR code to order pictures once proofs are in. Should we not have school, we will let you know when pictures are rescheduled.

RHMS spring conferences are just around the corner! If you would like to help provide food for our staff, please click on the attached link to sign up. Thank you for supporting RHMS teachers and staff!
